PowerPress Settings
Basic Settings
Default Media URL – Default URL where your media is hosted. e.g. http://example.com/mediafolder/
The Default Media URL allows you to enter the media file name without the full URL when publishing episodes.
Podpress Episodes – Includes podcast episodes previously created in Podpress in the RSS feeds and blog posts.
iTunes URL – This is your iTunes URL (one-click subscription link) issued from iTunes. e.g.http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=000000000
You can obtain your iTunes URL by finding your podcast in the iTunes music store and then click the ‘email a friend’ feature by entering your own email address. You will be sent a special one-click link from iTunes which should resemble the link above.
Ping iTunes – Notify iTunes when you publish a new episode. Please use the test option to verify this feature works in your blog. Note, the iTunes URL field above must be specified for this feature to work.
Presentation Settings
Display Player – Display the flash based web player in your blog posts either above posts, below posts or not at all.
Player Function – Display player in page and/or as new pop up window.
Download Link – Display download link.
Media Statistics
Provide the entire media redirect URL for each service you use to calculate your media download statistics. As of present, PodTrac.com, Blubrry.com, TechPodcasts.com and RawVoice.com 3rd party statistics are supported.
Feed Settings
Apply Settings To – Apply Feed settings to either all RSS 2.0 feeds in your blog or only to the main RSS 2.0 feed or to none of your blog feeds.
iTunes Summary – Your podcast program’s iTunes summary. Note the iTunes summary may not contain HTML and cannot exceed 4,000 characters in length.
iTunes Program Subtitle – Subtitle of your podcast program, limited to 250 characters.
iTunes Program Keywords – Unique keywords/tags related to your podcast program, limited to 12 keywords.
iTunes Category 1/2/3 – Categories in iTunes where your podcast program should be listed. iTunes limits this to three categories.
iTunes Explicit – Display explicit warning in iTunes when set to ‘Yes’, display clean notification when set to ‘Clean’ or display nothing otherwise.
iTunes Image – Square image displayed throughout iTunes of your podcast. Image should be 600×600 pixels square or larger (previously this was 300×300 or larger) and in either png or jpg format.
RSS2 Image – Image displayed in other popular podcatchers such as Juice and Zune Marketplace. RSS image should be at least 88 and at most 144 pixels wide and at least 31 and at most 400 pixels high in either .gif, .jpg and .png format. A square 144 x 144 pixel image is recommended.
Talent Name – The talent name or names of your podcast. This may include real names, fictional names or nicknames.
Email - Email address included in your feed. This is used by iTunes to notify you of listing changes.
Copyright – This is he copyright notice which is included in the copyright tag of your feed. You may enter the html character © or use the text (c) in order to indicate copyright within this field.
